Scrivener – All any writer needs…

Scrivener is an application that can save the bacon of any fiction, non-fiction writer, journalist, editor or wordy person!

It is brilliant at keeping tabs of whats going on where and any notes and research you may have done. The killer feature for me, however, is the ability to write in fullscreen mode without distractions, just you the mac and the page!

Yet another great, free service. Scribd allows you to upload your documents for free. It accepts most formats and quickly converts them to iPaper, a great interactive alternative to PDF. The platform allows you to embed and share your documents with great ease.

Hydra – Create High Dynamic Range Photos with ease!

Hydra is amazing! (do you see a patter developing here?)

Hydra allows you to create HDR images from your photos automatically!

Best of all there is also a plugin for Aperture.

It is stunningly gorgeous and features 256-bit AES encryption to keep your private stuff from prying eyes. You can store credit card info, frequent flyer account data, passwords, 

insurance information, or short notes that you don’t want to make public. Any document can be dragged into the Safe Deposit Box to be compressed and encrypted. Up to 2 GB of items can be stored in the Safe Deposit Box.

Celtx – All any writer needs on a mac…

Celtx is amazing!

Basically Celtx is an application to layout scripts, prepare character backgrounds, props, locations, budgets, everything!……it allows you to back your work up to their servers for free and collaborate with other writers if you wish.

If your a writer and you don’t download anything else from this blog, this would be the one that I would say is a must.

And best of all….its 100% FREE!

Appzapper – “The uninstaller that finds it all!”

So, you’ve installed a large piece of software and you decide you no longer want it, either it doesn’t work how you’d like or you simply need the space. You simply trash the app yes?……..don’t you?

Well no, when you install many apps they also place files in other locations on your mac (especially the pro apps). 

To use appzapper you simply drag the application icon on to the zapper and zapp!!   the application and all associated files are sent to the trash!

This isn’t free but it does give you 5 free zaps! so use them sparingly unless you want to buy it (not very expensive anyhoo!)
