Although not as sophisticated as applications such as Roxio’s Toast, Burn is one simple and useful application for making various format discs that is completely free. Isn’t that lovely?

Carbon Copy Cloner has been around for quite some time now but that has not diminished quite how useful this application can be. Its especially useful for making a completely cloned copy of drive and has got me out of trouble many a time. In its latest iteration it has a simplified interface and really feels like a premium application rather than the freeware that it has always been!

Enjoy.

We all love time machine and for most people having no control of their backups is a blessing in disguise. I suppose that the point of time machine is that we don’t have to think about backing up.

Well if your one of those people that cannot let go of a little bit of control, time machine editor is for you. it basically enables you to specify when backups happen.

Mozy is a great and easy to use service for backing up any files to an online storage area.

I have used it for some time for the super important stuff I cannot afford to be without. It offers clients for both mac and windows and will allow you to restore through the client, from the web or even by dvd that is fedexed to you (for a charge of course). All in all I think this can be a great addition to any computing arsenal against lost data and data protection.

According to the guys at Coolosxapps, this is what you get for free with mozy…

2GB Of Free Secure Storage (UNLIMITED Storage ONLY $4.95 A Month)

Open/Locked File Support

Block-Level Differential Backup

128-bit SSL Support (Secures Your Data During Transport)

448-bit Blowfish Encryption (Secures Your Data On Their Server)

Continuous Or Scheduled Backup Options

Automatic Or Scheduled Backups

New & Changed File Detection

Block Level Incremental Backups

Bandwidth Throttling

File Versioning

Public Or Private Key Encryption

Much More

So please click below if you would like to get 2gb of free storage (as well as an extra bonus amount of storage for signing up through bigmacblog.com)
